Hello Friends,
I am often asked why I do TaKeTiNa? Instead of answering this outright, my mind wanders to a different question: What is unique to TaKeTiNa that still draws me to it? At this point the person asking the first question looks at me still waiting.
I can no longer say that I do TaKeTiNa for one specific reason other than its uniqueness. It combines deep mediation, whole body movement, rhythmic and musical learning, community, growing awareness, learning through confusion, accepting our mistakes, laughter and play.
Do I want to:
-meditate deeply? Done.
-build rhythmic capacity? Done.
-learn in a judgement free learning environment? Absolutely.
-build musicality? Done.
-retrain my mind to let go of mistakes and learn faster? Yup.
-connect to community and myself? Done.
-stimulate healing in the brain and body? Done.
-relax, laugh, play and revitalize the nervous system? Those too.
The list could go on. TaKeTiNa makes all of these things accessible to everyone. No experience, dedication or talent is necessary to participate. All anyone need do is show up. Do what feels good. Be present. Reap the benefits. It blows my mind every time I walk in the circle or do it on my own.
