Hello Curious People,
I love continuum’s. I use them quite regularly as I explore rhythm: stress and boredom, chaos and order, confusion and knowing. Continuum’s help me feel like my position is fluid and can slide back and forth as life, rhythm and presence allow. If I am stressed, the solution is not always to be unstressed. Maybe, my goal is to be less stressed. A continuum is great for helping me remember this. Anyone wondering, “What does this have to do with Simultaneity?” (see subject line…)
What if we are not in one spot on the spectrum at all? What if we exist on it in many different places at the same time? Even simultaneously… (see what I did there?) We usually speak of being in simultaneity only in terms of doing more than one thing physically, i.e. stepping, clapping, singing, listening, feeling… In TaKeTiNa we all find ourselves doing any number of physical things at the same time. Can we take that experience of simultaneity inside? Can we can feel some confusion while also feeling a good deal of order? Can we feel a sense of nervousness, frustration, fear, while also staying in touch with a sense of calm? Can we allow confusion to be fully present and accept that it doesn’t take away from our knowing?
These questions are clearly yes’s for me and I really look forward to exploring together the experiences we have of simultaneity inside and out in the journey this weekend. It feels like it has been a long while since I have been to People’s and I hope you can all come play, sing, step, clap and laugh our way into some new joy.
If you don’t make it, explore a little simultaneity in your own way. then write me about it.
Peace,
Jacob

I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I came across this in my hunt for something relating to this.
